BIM - Basic Internet Messaging

A basic messaging app that keeps you connected to friends and family and keeps your conversations private.

Windows · Linux · Android

  • Private by default. Your messages are encrypted so only you and the friend you're talking to can read them — not even BIM can see what you send.
  • No strangers. There's no directory and no search. The only way someone can send you a contact request is if you already gave them your exact handle yourself — so your inbox only ever has people you actually chose to talk to.
  • Built-in games. Play Checkers, Tic-Tac-Toe, and more right inside a conversation — fun for the whole family.
  • Make it yours. Pick from a bunch of built-in color themes.

Under the hood: BIM uses Double Ratchet + X3DH end-to-end encryption — the server only ever relays ciphertext it can't read. Sign in on multiple devices at once. Send files and images alongside text. Built-in color themes, synced across your signed-in windows. No ads, no data mining, no accounts sold to anyone.
